In case you don't know about this yet:

On Friday, February 10, the rock star of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was none other than Ann Coulter. Before an overflow crowd of at least 1000 young right-wing activists, Coulter took her brand of performance art to new heights....

Coulter on Muslims:

"I think our motto should be post-9-11, 'raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.'" (This declaration prompted a boisterous ovation.)

Coulter on killing Bill Clinton:

(Responding to a question from a Catholic University student about her biggest moral or ethical dilemma) "There was one time I had a shot at Clinton. I thought 'Ann, that's not going to help your career.'"

...Coulter on the Supreme Court:

"If we find out someone [referring to a terrorist] is going to attack the Supreme Court next week, can't we tell Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalito?"...

This is from Max Blumenthal at the Huffington Post. And lest you think Blumenthal is exaggerating the positive reaction to Coulter from the assembled right-wingers, this righty blogger points to a blogger who's at the CPAC convention and says,

And now the line for her book signing is stretching hundreds of feet throughout the conference hall, with young and impressionable minds thick amongst their number, and the crowd is so thick in her session that when they stand to applaud they shake the camera stand and overwhelm the gain on the microphones.

So don't believe the I-was-in-the-Resistance-all-through-the-war liars on the right who say that Coulter is an embarrassment to conservatives and every true right-winger knows it. I'm talking about phonies like this guy:

I picked up a copy of Ann Coulter's How To Talk To A Liberal at an airport newsstand to kill time on a flight last fall; while it probably wouldn't surprise you to read that I concurred with some her ideas, actually reading her book was tough sledding. Unlike say, the beautiful prose of Mark Steyn or James Lileks, she invariably uses H-bombs where a flyswatter would do the job nicely. So sadly, I'm not at all surprised that she used language like this today...

That's Ed Driscoll -- who has previously told us:

"I can't say I'm Ann's greatest fan, but this is one riot of an interview with her."

"Ann Coulter was widely attacked by leftists and thoughtful conservatives, for her wide-angle attack on Cold War liberals, Treason. ... Gore's speech today--which has already been called "awfully close to a charge of treason" by at least one person who heard it, will no doubt bring a 'see, I told you so' response from Coulter, and quite rightly so."

"I'VE READ MICHAEL CROWLEY'S SLATE ARTICLE on former Georgia Sen. Max Cleland, and while Crowley writes that, "Cleland...lost two legs and an arm to a grenade explosion in Vietnam", he really, really underplays just how Cleland's accident occurred, and that it wasn't in combat. I'm no fan of Ann Coulter's writing style and sneering tone, but she took an enormous amount of flak for researching and simply writing about the incident..."

I swear I've never met the woman! Maybe she brushed up against me that one time in the airport newsstand! Otherwise, I have no idea how her lipstick wound up on my collar....

Don't swallow this crap from "thoughtful" righties. Ann Coulter does for them what the Swift Boat liars did for the '04 Bush campaign, what Drudge and The American Spectator did for the GOP in the '90s, what the town hooker does for the good burghers of the Decency League who furtively make their way to her door: She does what they're not allowed to admit they want done. They piously denounce her as sleazy -- but they certainly will head over to her side of town and get off on what she does.

****

By the way, do you think now we can get a little media attention for this Coulter remark from late January?

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, speaking at a traditionally black college, joked that Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned.

Coulter had told the Philander Smith College audience Thursday that more conservative justices were needed on the Supreme Court to change the current law on abortion.

Stevens is one of the court's most liberal members.

"We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said. "That's just a joke, for you in the media."...

That barely caused a ripple. Why? What does it take to get the media's attention?
