WAHHHH! WAHHHH! WE WANT IT NOW!!!!

I'm finding the right-wing outrage over this to be, well, infantile:

CBO: Budget deal cuts this fiscal year's deficit by just $352 million, not $38 billion touted

... The Congressional Budget Office estimate shows that compared with current spending rates the spending bill due for a House vote Thursday would cut federal outlays from non-war accounts by just $352 million through Sept. 30....

Yeah, I understand why it looks as if the wingnuts got rolled, but really, here's what's going on:

The CBO study confirms that the measure trims $38 billion in new spending authority relative to current levels, but many of the cuts come in slow-spending accounts like water-and-sewer grants that don't have an immediate deficit impact.

So apparently the cuts are there. They're just not there NOW NOW NOW!!!

I dunno. "Slow-spending accounts like water-and-sewer grants"? Maybe impatient, tantrum-throwing Republicans would like to send workers out immediately to destroy all of America's remaining functional infrastructure, rather than waiting for it to deteriorate and go unrepaired years in the future. (Low-paid, non-union, non-public-sector workers, of course. Oh, wait, I forgot -- that would be creating jobs. Republicans don't do that, do they?)
