RICK PERRY: OBJECTIVELY PRO-AUTO FATALITY

How far does the notion that government is evil go for Rick Perry? This far:

Gov. Rick Perry vetoed more than 20 bills late Friday afternoon including a bill that would have banned texting while driving in Texas.

"I support measures that make our roads safer for everyone, but House Bill 242 is a government effort to micromanage the behavior of adults," Perry wrote in his explanation of one of his vetoes.

Perry said in his veto statement that the key to stopping people from texting while driving is "information and education." ...

Really, Rick, why stop there? Drinking is also "the behavior of adults" -- why "micromanage" that by keeping the drunk-driving laws of Texas on the books. Overturn 'em! Just give people the "information and education" they need and put 'em on the honor system!

And why does your state still have all those red lights and stop signs? That's fascism! Who should decide when it's safe to drive or not drive? Surely not the government! That decision should be left up to free individuals! Right?
