I don't think those contributions you linked are the Donald Sterling in question.

The conservative "both sides do it" is risible: "You wanna talk about racists in the camp? We'll see your Bundy and raise you a Sterling." Except I missed the bit where progressives celebrated Sterling as the new Gandhi, heroically standing up for principle against the forces of darkness.

Right. But you see Ken you still have Harry "light skinned negro" Reid in office as Senate Majority Leader. And you were perfectlh content to keep a KKK Exalted Cyclops in office as Pres. Pro Tem (3rd in line to the presidency) until 2010. You KKK-founding Dems have yet to disown either racist. So, a bit worse than lauding a Nevada rancher that no one ever heared about until a few weeks ago. I know. Very embarassing for you.

I'd tell you that Byrd repudiated his own racism ("The greatest mistake I ever made was joining the Ku Klux Klan"), and that after the "Negro" comment Reid apologized and Obama accepted the apology, but you've heard that a thousand times, and, like all wingnuts, your response is LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!! So it's pointless.

I still think the best judgment on the relative racism of the parties was made by Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond when they joined the GOP. But ol' Don Sterling seems to have known what he was doing back in 1998. It's childish of me, but it's making me a little giddy.
